RIO DE JANEIRO FAVELA ‘SLUMS’ – The unfortunate living conditions of many-touring brazil

On our first full day in Rio de Janeiro, we take a tour through the slums and learn about the 5% of Brazilian population (and 1.5 million people in Rio alone) that live in Favelas.
This was a truly eye opening experience that scared us both. Katie wanted nothing more than to get out by the end. Looking back, we really enjoyed the tour, but it was a bit overwhelming hearing the sad stories of how people live day to day in Favelas.
This video is a bit more on the serious side, but filled with awesome stories!
Check back in tomorrow when we explore the top things to do in Rio de Janeiro with a full day city tour!
